In payment card transaction processing, stand-in processing or authorization is a service provided by a payment card network, in which the payment card network acts on behalf of the issuer or as a back-up to the issuer in the authorization process. The present disclosure relates broadly, but not exclusively, to a system and method for stand-in processing of a transaction involving a payment card. 21, 2016, the disclosure of which is incorporated by reference herein in its entirety as part of the present application. This patent application claims priority to Singapore Application No. The method according to claim 8, wherein the transaction comprises one of a web-based transaction, an ATM-based transaction, and a POS device-based transaction. The method according to claim 8, wherein the data representing the POS entry mode comprises the data element 22 of a message compliant with ISO 8583.ġ4.
